Great Customer service

The sales man went above and beyond to pull some strings so that we could get our television delivered the next day. Also the shipping manager gave us great advice about getting our tv delivered to our house. Overall a good experience and great prices.

Horrible customer service

I purchased living room furniture on 09/08/08. One chair had to be ordered and it took over three weeks. When arrangements were made for delivery, I specifically made sure a weekend delivery was available. When delivery was made on sunday the wrong couch was delivered. I sent the couch back and I called my sales person, Anjali to complain. The delivery guys said this happens frequently and I should go to MB and talk to my sales person and make sure I get the right couch. I went to MB and asked for Anjali. Her manger came to help me, where was she? I told him the situation and he them took me to customer service and assured me the right couch with the right pillows would be delivered, then left the office. The customer service girl said I could call after 3 pm for the delivery time on monday. I explained the importance of getting the delivery today and she was like a robot repeating there is no same day delivery. I ccontinued to explain that I would not be home during the weekdays and I had specifically made arrangements for delivery today. Once again the robot response, "No same day delivery." I spent nearly $2000.00. Mathis Brothers Do Not care about customers. If I ever get my couch, I will seriously shop around for my next furniture. If customer service is important to you, then don't go to MB.

Worse shopping experience ever

worst experience of my life shopping at Mathis Brothers, treatly rudely, not allowed to shop, treated as though we were going to touch something or get something dirty. Not allowed to sit on furniture to try it out. Followed around like a puppy dog. Took over three hours after we decided to by something before we got a ticket to pickup.

Never again.

I recently purchased home office furniture -- a complete set with computer credenza/hutch, lateral file cabinet and also a bookcase. I was told by the salesman that MB had everything in stock, but that there was only one bookcase, so I secured my purchases and set up a delivery time. When the deliverymen came, they had everything but the bookcase -- it wasn't even listed on their order sheet. So, I call up MB and am told that they do not have this item -- not in any store (even though someone in OKC customer service told the lead deliveryman that Tulsa had some, and I know this because he nodded his head and said, "They just told me there are four in Tulsa.") -- and that it has been discontinued, which is false because I checked with other area stores about this and they said the collection, including the bookcase, is not being discontinued.

So, I call my salesman, and he realizes that someone went into the computer and changed the ticket so that it didn't show the bookcase in stock (so, did MB sell my piece to someone else, because they could and hoped that I would choose another item?). Long story short, MB misses the second delivery date and then the following day I get a call from a higher-up at MB, and he apologizes profusely and says "name the time and we'll deliver the furniture." Well, I finally got it delivered and it has flaws: a piece of the wood looks damaged and one of the delivery guys accidentally shot a screw through the back of the bookcase (isn't that a pretty feature that wasn't advertised?). I have called Mathis Brothers to discuss the damaged furniture and have yet to get a response. So DO NOT GO TO MATHIS BROTHERS. My parents are looking for furniture, as is my sister and her family, and I already told them about this experience and they have no plans shopping at MB. I only wish zero stars were a rating option!

Ripoff Continues--But at least they admit it

Mathis Brothers responded to the complaint. Below is their response:

I want to assure you that no employee is ever instructed to lie. With imported product, made in China, we are subject to availability of their containers and ship times do change without notice to us. Also, every piece of furniture that is shipped to us requires some touch up.( IS DAMAGED) It goes into trucks and on ships and comes out of the box often with minor touch up repairs required to conceal damage. We will be receiving another container in August. I checked with the manufacturer and it is pushed back to the end of August now. We can exchange it when it arrives with the customers understanding it could be 6 weeks before we have it available. Our Ontario store is also out of stock and waiting on 2 containers.With the amount of trouble the customer has experienced and at least 6 more weeks before completion, I do not want to delay the customer getting their home office settled or any more frustration. I can pick everything up at their convenience and refund their money.

Mathis brothers stinks

We bought and paid for furniture on April 20, 2008. The table and chairs were to arrive in 3 weeks, the china hutch and buffet were to arrive July 5. No table and chairs in 3 weeks, their answer was that it had to come all at once. July 5 came and went. New delivery date was today July 12. What showed up at my door was 2 chairs and the table. Still missing was 6 chairs, china cabinet and buffet. We didn't sign for a partial order and getting help from customer service is impossible. At least writing this complaint is something to do while on hold waiting for customer service.

Help fight Mathis Brothers Furniture

Dear Consumer,

I am writing this invitation to all that have endured the painful experience of deal ing with

Mathis Brothers Furniture (MBF) customer service.

I too have had a horrible experience and I have found that we are at their mercy. We need to join together in an effort to bring light to this injustice and hold MBF accountable to their actions.

I purchased a sleeper sofa on March 17th of 2008 and it is now Jun 24th of 2008 and they have just rescheduled the delivery date for the 4th time and its now Jun 30th! How can they expect me to trust them?. It?s worth mentioning that they have never attempted to contact me to let me know the item was not arriving on time, I have had to make contact with them every time.

The reason I was given (their excuse) is that the manufacturer is waiting on a full truck load before driving it down to their store? So, does this mean that if the manufacturer doesn?t have enough orders to fill a full truck until Nov I will have to wait until then for my sofa? .

Since there is nothing we can do as individual consumers, this is what I suggest; Please, if you have had any negative experience in deal ing with MBF file a complaint with the Be tter Busine ss Bure au of Oklahoma, it will not take you more than 5 min to fill out and I am including their web address below:

MBF is a member of the B B B and must respond to each and every complaint and try to resolve it. If they have enough complaints they will lose their member ship and most importantly they will realize that they are not untouchable. They must be held accountable for their lousy business practices.

Please, take the time to immediately file your complaint regardless of how long it has been.

Together we will make a difference and bring a little justice to this world.

Terrible Customer Service

So far a horrible experience. Wrong furniture delivered on the first delivery date. Then, on second delivery 5 days later, and this only happened after too much time spent on the phone speaking with customer service representives from both the Ontario CA. and the Oklahoma offices. It is now day 11 and I am still waiting for a resolve to my problem. I have furniture sitting in my dining room that is not installed correctly. The installation people went as far as telling me that my floor is not level. I called to have furniture fixed, only to have a representative call back, leave a confusing message, now I don't know if they are coming to make said repairs. I now consider myself a customer no more with Mathis Brothers. Furniture buying is not supposed to be this hard,

My furniture was returned for a warramty repairs, after a week they called me at 8.00am and said your funiture is ready but can not be delivered today. i called them back and talk to a manager and say is earl and fortunately we are home today and we also pay for delivery. She snap and say you only pay 5 dollars. i offered to pay the value of the funiture if possible just to get them delivered today. Then she hang up on me.

Never again waste my time and money to shop at this store.

There are a few positives

I purchased almost $2,000 from Mathis Brothers, I had issues with one of my items getting in stock. I was told it would be in 2 weeks from the date I purchased it, after waiting and waiting it finally got in, but was damaged, so I they had to come pick it up and bring a new table, which was not damaged. The one positive was my saleslady, she called me every week to let me know the status of the table, and told me not to call customer service, just to call her, and she would take care of it for me, which she did! I have to say, if you go, use Keri Teal, she is the best salesperson there, unlike all the rude and very aggresive other salespeople! For the positives though, they have good prices and good selection.
