Cheap food but expensive bill. My wife and I decided to go because it sounded like a good place to explore. I should have gone to the grocery store instead. We spent $60+ for the equivalent of a $2 microwave dinner. They did not even give you bread. We got saltine crackers with butter!…
Neat story-OVERLY priced!. I was extremely disappointed with this restaurant. I was so excited to finally be able to experience it. The location was interesting as well as the story behind it. As for the food and drinks- i had the Filet Mignon and baked potatoe, the potatoe was burnt and the salad (which was extra) was more like a Bag o salad. Since it was my birthday they brought us a cupcake to share that was very bland and tasted old. For two people and 2 alcohoic beverages our tab was 115.00 (not including the tip). The only thing I can say was that our server was very pleasant other than that, my experience was very dissapointing. I would NOT recommend this place.…
We had a wonderful experience at this nostalgic dinner house!. Being an Oklahoma transplant has been a complete trip for me, but let me tell you of a unique dining experience! It was my birthday, and I had been whining about all of our evenings involving the same four eateries when WHAM!,........(2of our 4 have lived here for 35 years to life and one has been to this establishment before).......got the picture? What a wonderful surprise this birthday was! Not only did I get to go on line to try to solve a CSI unsolved but I also got to experience the kind of dinner house dining I worked as a student in California in the 70's, and let me tell you, if you want good food from tested recipes at todays prices, you can't go wrong....!!! And I say this mostly because orange roughy was not readily available when I waited tables and cooked for a living, but dinner houses were!!!!!!Quiet atmosphere, red naughahyde, whatever the chair that is actually comfortable enough to spend an evening was and the sheer attentiveness of a staff that really cares to make sure that if you want to enjoy your evening with this HOUSE they are there with you! The food is phenomenal, the service, great; the sauces;TIMELESS! Try to repeat these dishes at home and get them in this atmosphere!!! You won't!! We recomend this OKC Dinner house for it's tradition, good food, and great service!! If you want a great evening in a wonderously quiet atmosphere with the best that DINNER HOUSE can offer, TRY AND POST!!! We were back tonight! Three days later!! You will never find a better BRANDY ICE, and they have made them the same way for 44 years!! I for one LOVE THIS HOUSE!!…
Beware! This restaurant adds a service charge to every ticket for Prom night!. My son, his girlfriend and another couple went here Saturday night before their Prom. When each couple received their check there was a $10 charge on the ticket, when my son asked what the charge was he was told it was a service charge because of the Prom. The waiter used the terminology "service charge" not gradituity, so my son and his friend left a tip. I called the restaurant to confirm if they were adding a service charge and she said they did, I asked her if it was on top of a gratituty and she said that the service charge was the same as a gratituty. I told her no one calls a gratituty a service charge and was told that's what it was. I suggested she should have informed the kids when they made the reservations since they were up front with her and told her they were coming before the Prom. She told me they do it because the kids don't leave enough in tips. That may be the case but most of these kids go to dinner with their parents and are well aware of what tipping is. If they were concerned about the staff not making enough they shouldn't accept reservations from these kids. The restaurant was well aware it was prom night. I feel as though the restaurant saw an opportunity to take advantage of these kids so they took it. Needless to say, the kids won't be returning before next years Prom and we will never eat their again. I would imagine my son won't forget this episode as an adult and will choose to patron a restaurant more friendly to establishing a long term relationship with him and his future family!…
Unique experience. I really liked the fact that that The Haunted house is secluded, down a dark road and a very unique atmosphere. Plus we had great service. The salad we ordered, however, which does NOT come with the meal was awful. There was brown lettuce and soggy stale croutons. YUCK! I ordered the garlic shrimp pasta, which was wonderful, and my husband ordered a steak, which was not bad, but not the best. It was our anniversary and our waitress brought us a little cupcake to share for dessert. It was nice. I did overall enjoy the experience and would probably go back.…
