Great tasting steak for the $$$ – My family and I read the reviews here prior to visiting. There were mixed reviews so we really did not know what to think. We were looking for a family restuarant that was not too expensive and offered a decent meal. We were pleased with the steaks and my husband thought the beans were good as well.
We ordered small sirloins which had a great taste and was NOT tough. The cheapest steaks here are much better than Golden Corral's steaks.
The previous reviewer was right, order your steaks more done than you actually want.
One thing I enjoyed about the restuarant is that it did not play loud music like a lot of restuarants that around today.
My son ordered the chicken strips with gravy which was comparable in price and quality to Cattlemen's.
Run FARRRR awayy while you still can!!! – No waiting time...because anyone with half a taste bud would know not to eat here.
This place is disgusting. Their best cut of steak is rib eye, no filet mignons. Rib eye is usually a decent cut of meat but this place managed to make it taste dry, chewy, and salty. If I want beef jerky, I would go to the store and buy beef jerky. I would not pay $15 for this nasty chewy piece of old dead meat.
PS: It gave me foodpoisoning and the-runs afterwards. Don't go to this place if you love your butt.
Best steak in Oklahoma – OUTSTANDING! Great steak, seasoned and cooked to perfection. I grill often, but cannot come close to this flavor. If there is a better steak in Oklahoma, I haven't found it. Great sides to go with the meal; service has always been very good. I've always felt completely satisfied when I leave; and full. Try it.....
Not recommended for a large party – Our family got together at Cimmaron Steak House to entertain some relatives from out of state. We had a party of 15.
The waitress was inattentive and unprofessional. I felt that she was either inexperienced, bad, or didn't care. She couldn't handle more than one task at a time - for example, she refused to take an appetizer order while taking drink orders. She was not tuned into our needs very well. I asked for a towel at one point, I even told her we needed it very quickly due to a spill and she didn't make it a priority. I had to ask two more times. I asked for a to-go box to take my meal home. I was standing, holding a small child and she handed me the box instead of placing it on the table or helping me with it. When we complained, the manager didn't seem to care, either.
Great Steak, Great Service, Poor Management – This place has the best steaks in town for the value. We frequently go here. We frequently have to send our steaks back because they are not cooked to order. When they are done right though, they are excellent. I've never found any other place that can serve up such a great piece of meat.
The management really is a disappointment though. When we had to send our steaks back for the second time, we wanted to mention this to the manager. Our waitress had to hunt her down three times before she would even come over to our table. Then it was oh well. She didn't seem to care one way or the other.
By the way, I would NOT recommend this place for a date, since the management has no problem seating adult couples next to a table of screaming kids, even when explicitly requested otherwise. Another oh well response to that complaint.
foodgasm!!!!!! good prices, went on sunday, no line, the food..... WOW!!!!!! – we had no line. the atmosphere was absolutely wonderful! two adults ate appetizer, entree, and dessert and all under $30!!!! if you have ever taken a taste of food and you got chills down to your toes; you know just how good it can be. if you havent you should try the grilled chicken. when i went i got the fried mushrooms, grilled chicken entree(on special for $4.99) and the cobbler a la mode. the best meal i have had in a very long time!!!!! the mushrooms were good; but the chicken and the cobler gave me chills!!!! if you go to OKC make sure you stop there!!! we found it by accident my first time in OKC. i saw it and said... "it's named after a horse.... it cant be bad." I was soooooooooo right!!!!
Do not visit for any reason – Anyone who rates this as a great place to eat has no culinary knowledge. If you are obese, and are looking to stuff as much fodder into your mouth as possible for the least amount of money with no regard for quality, then Cimmaron is for you. If you are looking for a great steak, wine, desserts and ambience, then keep driving.
Great Food – The steaks were excellent, cooked to perfection. It was a great value, with the baked potato, beans, salad and garlic bread. I will definitely return and recommend it to my friends.
Best steak in town – Ask for a steak cooked "medium". You won't be disappointed. The "Sundance Kid" is an excellent steak for the price. Ask for the complimentary bowl of beans. The garlic bread is great. The wait is usually 20min or less. This is a great place for lunch or dinner. Lots of OKC folks have discovered this place and keep on coming back.
will never go again – we had 5 out of 7 meals were incorrect. food was served cold. had to keep asking for refils on drinks. meat was not that good.
