Very satisfied customer. We purchased a king bed using Brittany in the internet sales department. Since we live out-of-state, we had to wait until they had a full truck for delivery. Brittany was excellent answering all my emails and phone calls as to delivery of the bed. Jessica was in charge of lining up the truck and handling the delivery of the bed. Again, she answered all my phone calls etc in a timely manner. I am stating all this because, after reading a bunch of reviews, I was a bit nervous on what I was getting myself into. Let me just say, the bed made it here this morning and it was perfect. No scratches, dents, dings or anything and the delivery guys were great setting the bed up in less than 30 minutes. The bed is BEAUTIFUL! Would I buy from Mathis again, you bet. So I'm not sure what all the negative comments I was reading were all about. Maybe unhappy people are more apt to write a review? I'm just saying...…
Extremely satisfied customer. We purchased a sofa and loveseat Friday from Mathis Brothers. This is the first time we had ever been in the store and after looking at six other stores between Wichita Falls, Texas and Lawton, OK., we were thrilled to find exactly what we had been looking for. Our sales person, Diana Boisseau was awesome, the crew that loaded the furniture and tied it down did an excellent job and the furniture was in mint condition when we unloaded and unwrapped it. I am a very satisfied customer and will definitely use this store again. I did not read any reviews before going to Mathis Brothers and may have been scared off it I had, so I wanted to let those of you looking out there know there are some satisfied customers (that didn't look everything over before leaving the store).…
Selling returned merchandis as new..
CHECK YOUR MERCHANDISE.
This happened to me several years ago and I avoided Mathis Brothers ever since. But, I recently decided to give them another shot. Bad idea.
I ask the sales person if the merchandise is new in-the-box. The answer is "yes". The truth is "maybe or maybe not". In this case it was a TV console/entertainment center. (The previous case was a power recliner.) I picked up the console and brought it home. Upon opening, I found one end of the console was cracked and one door would not shut properly. The power cord was loose inside and the 'brochures' were in an open envelope that was too small. This console had obvioulsy been a customer return. Mathis Brothers did give me a replacement (it was new, brochures were in a sealed envelope and the power cord was wrapped in foam) but it is a 50 mile trip each way from my home. In the previous case with the recliner, I returned twice and each time was given a defective and obviously returned, all three recliners had quality defects including one with a food stain on the headrest!. I finally had to demand a refund.
My understanding is they even do this with mattresses!!!! which is allowed in Oklahoma.
So, no matter how big the box, have it opened and check it before you leave!…
Check your merchandise before leaving. I headed to Mathis Bros. early this morning after finding the perfect TV stand on their websight last night. I called ahead, so I got in and out quickly with my purchase. My husband unload the box from my car, at which time we found a large tear in the box. We could see that the wood was damaged. I called back to tell them the situation and was told there was another one in stock. They said I could return it for an exchange. The very nice girl on the phone told me if I had opened the box then I would own it, lucky for me I hadn't already opened it. By the time I got back to the store, the line was long and the wait was much longer, Ugh!!! This is not my first purchase from Mathis Bros, nor my last, but I will NEVER leave the store without inspecting my purchase from top to bottom!!! This is our third purchase this year and all three purchases had to be returned because the furniture that was loaded into our vehicle was damaged. The store should do a better job of checking the merchandise and removing damaged items from their regular stock. I won't make that mistake again!!!…
Mathis Brothers. We bought some living room furniture last week from one of their other stores in OKC. We are from another state, and had no idea until we were paying out, that the Factory Direct Furniture Store was owned by the Mathis Brothers. We found out when we got our receipt, or we would not have bought from them. I had thoroughly researched Mathis Brothers before we made the trip, and after what I read on the review page, I decided because of their customer service complaints, that they weren't an option for us. We made the trip back to Texas, brought the furniture in the house, and the couch has a major defect in the back. Knowing that other customers have had so much trouble getting ahold of a *live* person, I already dreaded what was going to happen. We have called twice, left two voice messages, to no avail. We are going to try to call one more time, then turn this matter over to the BBB.…
