Their policies don't seem to value customer loyalty ; customer service is extremely poor.
Lived in OK most of my life - moved back about 4 years ago and went with the "default" utilities companies. In the case of ONG, I am sincerely regretting that choice. Today I became so fed up that I called Centerpoint to switch gas companies.
Received a notice this month that since payments had been late at least 2x in the past 12 months, I needed to have an active deposit on account. (Never mind that the late payments were both under 30 days late or that I have been a customer of ONG's for 4 years now and always paid my bills). One place in the letter stated that the deposit was $365 and another place in the letter said that the desposit was $122 divided into 3 intstallments. (Okay, so now I am ticked off because the letter is poorly written. While I can GUESS what they meant to say was that the deposit was $365 divided into 3 installments of $122 each -- it is really BAD form to make your customers guess at penalty amounts).
Called ONG to see 1) how the amount was calculated, 2) if having monthly payments auto deducted from our bank account would alleviate the need for a deposit and 3) what the amount of the total deposit and the monthly deposit really was intended to be. Can't say that the customer service personnel made any pretense of being helpful or caring. They didn't even seem to care about the feedback on the letter for the improvement of their own company communications to customers! (Heck, when I used to be in sales and customer service I ALWAYS appreciated my customers telling me that a communication was unclear -- its the best feedback available). Not so much ONG.
Funny thing is when I called Centerpoint -- their installation fee and deposit (which may not even be required) for us as is 1/4 of the deposit amount that ONG is requesting from us as multi-year customers with a proven payment history. Wow! I will certainly be encouraging my friends and family to check into changing providers. Gotta value the customer.
ONG gets a big Fat F!. I Can't give enough F's or F words about ONG. Moved in from out of state. ONG took 1 wk to send a tech out in the winter. Tech said I'd need a plumber to test lines cuz gas had been unhooked >1yr. Had to look at meter for that info? Got a plumber that day. 1 more week of freezing. When I complained they said I need to go stay with someone until they could get gas on. Sometimes they forget to bill me & just double up the next bill. Forget your budget i guess. Hook up Appts are from 8am to midnight. Can't estimate w/in a 4hr block like every other business out there. They do what they want and clearly don't care. The techs are very polite, hardworking and I feel bad for them. It's the Customer Service and Company policies that stink.
