Coolest doc I've met in awhile. The first time I met Dr Otto, I sighed a breath of relief & said "finally, a doctor who gets it." After what seemed an endless search for a great vet, finally found a doc who is so knowledgable, kind, & straightforward, and able to communicate, and a true love for animals & what he does.

So far from the "country vets" I knew as a kid.. Wow. I found myself between a rock and a hard place this month. My dog is covered in fleas, no matter what remedy I have tried. I called Dr. John Otto's office to see if he could help relieve "Mister Miyagi"s abject misery, just for a couple of days until I get paid and can attack my whole dog's environment properly. While he did return my call, he offered a bevy of treatments I can't afford. He would not help even a little pro-bono, or work with me. If you've ever been in a situation like this, you know how difficult it is to ask for help. And this was "Norman's Best Vet". I'm going to have to partially agree with both other reviews. He does seem to be in it for the money. The second person had $1100. If you find yourself without, your pet will be without. Not good veterinary practice. Not even "I wish I could help". I have $1 to my name, and I wouldn't spend it at this vet.

Too bad I have to give it one star.. Dr. Otto is one of the most money obsessed veterinarians in town. He provides a lower standard of care than other less-expensive veterinarians. He is so greedy that in the summer he left the a/c set at above 80 degrees F, even though there were boarding dogs in the kennels, with no air flow. I'm surprised that he hasn't had more dogs die on him. His surgery suites are outdated and he doesn't observe the animals after they are coming out of anesthesia. Dr. Campbell is nice, but unfortunately, he works for a horrible close-fisted man. The rest of the staff are nice enough, but horribly trained, and none of them are Registered Veterinary Technicians.

Best veterinary care in Norman. Dr> John Otto and Dr. Vance Cambell and their staff are the absolute best! They are knowledgeable and caring and compassionate. My cats get the finest care possible. I consider all the staff friends, not just people who take care of my pets. Their follow-up and reminders are extremely comforting and helpful.
