bad experience. misunderstanding when ordering - the waiter laughed and smirked, but never said anything or questioned the order knowing there was only two of us -was charged $80 when thought I was ordering 16 pieces instead got 16 rolls even after they cut order in half. Intimidated to pay and leave tip. Called back and they would not talk to me. Does anyone there know how to communicate?
The best sushi (sshhh...don't tell).
I can see having issues with the owner. The bottom line is that she and her husband do a great job with the place. There's something about having their water (yes water) with lemon (crushed ice!) and sushi. So many sushi places that do nigiri just throw a piece of fish over a clump of rice. But here each piece of sushi is accented with other things like lemon slivers or green onion slivers and add deep layers of flavor. Their white tuna, red snapper, eel, and salmon are to die for...not to mention their regular tuna.
The owner has always been nice to me. If you are a high maintenance person or a person that expects to be bowed to don't come here. But if you want great sushi and are not fussy with how you are treated go here. It's by far my fave, and I have been to all of them. The "in" places are way overrated, crowded, and much less authentic.
Mother Bear needs to learn proper customer service.
OMG!! I was so heated when i left the restaurant!!! So first off let me say that food was pretty good, but i will never go back there. The owner "Mother Bear" was so rude. She started off by asking us "new comers" if we were ready to order. when she saw that we had not filled out the order form she threw it at us and said fill this out instead of explaining it to us when we got there or even after she saw that we hadn't filled it out. then to top it off we (5 of us) went to pay, mind you she didn't even have a proper cash register but a calculator. she told me may $22.00 tab and i paid her cash then she turns right around asking me if i paid and acted like we were trying not to pay for our full meal. when she is the dummy calculating it up for us. She turned around and had my friend that had already paid, pay $2.00 more dollars when it was her mistake.just her high and mighty attitude was enough to completely piss me off after we just dropped over $100.00! I WILL NEVER GO BACK!!
p.s the 12oz cans of coke are $1.95 not the $1.00 we were quoted.
The Korean lady or owner is sooo rude. Told us we had a group that didn't pay (some had to go back to work early)and WE should tell the waitress to tell HER that we split the bill before we came up so she could be prepared. (We had already told the waitress who already told her) Lady is nuts!
She then told us that we needed cash for an under $10.00 bill and pointed to a sticky note sign behind her on a board!!! Made me pay for my friend who didn't have cash.
Tokyo restaraunt has my business from now on! Nice staff and can put $5.00 on my debit if I wanted to!

Excellent Sushi!!!. I absolutely love this resturant! The fish is always extremely fresh, and the menu selection is awesome. I also ebjoy the atmosphere which is warm and inviting. The sushi cooks are also very friendly. It's nice to go to a restuarnt and the staff remembers you and give A+ treatment. I highly recommend you try this restaurant...you won't be disappointed!
