Will take your money and won't finish the work. Went to get a tattoo there because it was close to the house. Phil said he didn't have time, if we paid up front he would schedule and appt to get it done. The first appt he didn't have 'time'. The second appt he had to stop in the middle of because again, he didn't have 'time' and had to be someplace else. Now, he won't return phone calls, when we stop by, he conveniently isn't 'there' or he was 'busy' with promises of getting back to us. Been weeks. He took our money and now can't get him to finish. Poor business practices. Other reviews show they have done the same to other customers. Extremely dissatisfied.

If you want a true piece of artwork stop by for a quote. I decided to write a review because I have gotten so many comments from complete strangers, to fellow tattoo artists, and everyone in between about the work i've had done here. I have over 30 pieces and I'm in the process of finishing a much loved sleeve, I have had many offers from other shops to work on pieces for me, went along with other friends as they have gotten work done, no place compares to were I go or the workmanship I get. I have never been treated improperly, badly, or gotten ripped off even when I went in for my very first little blue butterfly, I didn't get laughed out the door. The staff was very forthcoming answered all my questions honestly and tried to put me at ease from the very first visit. Do appts occasionaly have to get bumped back or rescheduled sure but I dont think there is a shop out there that doesnt have the same problem on occasion. (have a friend who paid another shop $1,000 for a piece got bumped 4 times, it happens). I have a back piece of butterfly wings that where done to my specific request from color to shape drawn with a sharpie right on to my back and are a complete one of a kind piece no one else will ever have, if you want $20 flash go elsewhere if you want quality and your own distinct artwork see for yourself, shop around and compare I did and found the best place for me hands down.

Great work. I had a huge tattoos done at this place and it was a good time very clean and professional.. The artist are very friendly and know what they are doing..I would recomend to any one...

Bad Ass. I had my 3rd tattoo done at southside tattoos and the quallity of my tattoo is great...I had a few spots that healed rough but had no problem getting in for a touch up...now my tattoo is perfect...Everyone is diferant u may like them u may not but I would suggest them to anyone..

The "artists" are ridiculous. This place is a joke. I paid for a tattoo in full and months later it is still not finished. Every time I call the shop, the "artist" that did my tattoo is unavailable. No one knows when he will be in. I went as far as to just drop in and no one even acknowledged I was there. The guy who STARTED my tattoo was working on 2 new tats. I paid a lot of money for a tattoo that is incomplete. How dare he be taking new clients when he has been paid in full for mine and has not completed it yet. The "shop manager" aka the brother of my artist was very rude saying that they are very busy and I would be called back. That was weeks ago. Still nothing. Trying to be patient, I do want him to finish and do a good job, but am about to take them to small claims for a refund. I would not recommend going here for anything. They are very childish and talk badly about their other clients. Save your time and go somewhere else.

NEVER GO HERE. These are the worst people to have do anything for you. Not only are they women beaters. There sick dogs. All of them. I've known girls to date these guys you would not believe what they would tell me. Bad Bad Bad People!!!

don't recommend southside tattoo. I would NOT recommend this place. The artists rarely show up on time even when you have an appt. I got tired of waiting. I knew someone that got a tattoo and it wasn't complete and was told to come back two weeks later and they did. When they got there phil was doing another tattoo on a girl. He told my friend he couldn't do theirs. He then brought others into the conversation and was very rude, acted like a two yr old and kicked my friend out of the shop.He said he'd get to her that night, he hasn't called her since, so now she has an unfinished tattoo that she paid for. I had heard some really bad things myself about this phil guy, he never shows up on time either. Go somewhere else where your treated with respect.

Great artist!. Exceptional artist, just a little hard to get a hold of. Once we were able to get an appointment with them, Phil worked on me for about 3 hours. Overall, definitely worth the experience.
