Tips for Abuelo's Mexican Restaurant

Not this one...... I was told this restaurant was not as good as the one in Bricktown. They are right!!! I had a wonderful meal the week before in Bricktown, so when I went to this one on Memorial, and ordered the same dish, it was tasteless! No flavor! Had a Sangria swirl drink....I don't think they put a bit of alcohol in it. I should've sent it back! It will be a while before I go to this restaurant on Memorial again! Wasted my time and hard-earned money here!!!

Patrons of this upscale Tex-Mex chain choose from a wide variety of dishes made with fresh ingredients.. In Short
The decor is the star attraction with colonial-style architecture, vibrant murals of Mexican life, and stone statuary resembling a wealthy landowner's rural hacienda. Entrees include Tex-Mex staples--enchiladas and fajita tacos--with a few surprises such as bacon-wrapped beef tenderloin and grilled mahi mahi. Sweets include the creamy caramel-flavored dulce de leche cheesecake and the rich chocolate flan drizzled with Kahlua cream sauce.

Eh.. I really think restaurants should have to start clarifying if they're mexican or texmex. Abuelo's is the latter. Not bad, but nothing special. I've gotten better food at hole in the wall places for half the price. Recommended if you like mexican food a bit more on the mild side. Staff was great though.
