Overated Sandwiches and Salads.
I hate writing a mediocre review however, this is based upon my two separate visits to Markies. The first was a Ruben Sandwich with potato salad. Although the Ruben Sandwich had tons of corn beef
(a plus) the center was cold and the bread was soggy in the middle. Despite the tons of corn beef, the bread was only toasted on the corners and although the cheese was melted, the center of the sandwich was cold and overall the bread was soggy. The potato salad had more mayo than potatoes; overall, it was okay.
The second visit was the chicken Cesear salad. For $7.03, the salad included romaine lettuce and powdered parmesan cheese (not shredded). and packaged croutons, not fresh. The only highlight was the dressing was advertised as homemade and good. The chicken was so dry that I asked a co-worker to verify and she agreed. The chicken was obviously old and dried and the croutons and cheese were cheap and lacked a $7 taste.
Sorry, I don't recommend this place to others. I would eat at Panera Bread or the Atlantic Bread Company instead.…
