Devastated. I have been going to the Los Vaqueros family restaurants for over 8 years. I ate at the one today at 91st & S Western. I ordered my usual Wild Willy (full order) and 1 extra fish. They used to charge 5.50 for the extra fish. Last time they charged 7.50 for extra fish. This time the manager charged me 9.50 for the extra fish. The whole meal is 10.50. I questioned why the high charge, when I eat at another restaurant that charges $1.00 for each extra cat fish. He said that he would do nothing about it and I would know next time that the charge would be 9.50 for 1 cat fish only. I said if he couldn't do anything about it, then let me pay the extra $1.00 for the full meal and take home my beans and rice that would have come with it. He ignored me. I went to my car upset, got pen and tablet went back in and asked for his name, he refused to give it to me. I stood there and started crying asking what I had done to make him so angry at me. I have brought my church over there, my dental clinic, my friends and feel like I have brought many customers to them. As I'm standing there crying he totally ignores me and starts talking to chuy in spanish. I leave, feeling devastated. I don't know what I did to be treated like that, but would never want someone to experience it, ever!I cannot believe he would lose an 8 yr customer over $2.00. I love you Juan & Chuey, but will never be back. Sincerely, Ann Sledge grettabelle@aol
Great service, authentic mexicana. I love this place!! They have all the regular tex/mex dishes for the typical diner. But you can get that anywhere.... the real find is the authentic cuisine. There are plenty dishes listed on the menu but to get the real deal, all you have to do is ask. Try a tasty torta, or a huge plate of chilaquillas. If your get really brave, try the menudo on a Sunday morning... it is the best!
Excellent Value. I've been a loyal Los Vaqueros customer since they were actually in another smaller location. They've since expanded, and they have great food that comes out quick, but it's warm and fresh. The food is pretty inexpensive, especially their lunch items...and you won't have to worry about getting back to work on time. They have fun Mexican items on the walls, and sometimes the waiters even roam around singing in Spanish! =)
